Everyone is invited to join us and Durham Skies on June 7 for stargazing at the edge of Lake Ontario. Take a free look through different kinds of telescopes (including solar-filtered scopes) to get close-up looks at sunspots, craters on the Moon, the springtime constellations, and Jupiter which will be rising in the southeast. Peer deep into space and try your hand at spotting faint star clusters and nebulae. If you have a telescope and would like some advise on how to use it, bring it with you and we'd be happy to help.
Everything gets underway at 6:00pm with solar-filtered telescopes providing views of sunspots and prominences. Millennium Square is located at the south end of Liverpool Road, Pickering.
Please check our website during the day on June 7 before heading to the Square for a GO/NO-GO decision based on the weather.
