St. Paul's Circle of Indigenous Friends and Advocates presents its 2020 Online Indigenous Event and Webinar Series, Pathways to Awareness and Understanding: actions toward right relations

The concert on Friday, September 25 at 7 pm EDT features award-winning Indigenous folk artists, Twin Flames, and dancer, storyteller and actor, Travis Dugas Bellerose of the Bigstone Cree First Nation in Alberta, who will perform a traditional dance.
Our Online Conference on Saturday, September 26 begins at 9:30 am EDT. Our keynote speakers are Senator Murray Sinclair, retired judge and former Chair of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canada and Lee Maracle, Indigenous author, activist and poet.
Webinar speakers include the following:
Sept 30 at 7 pm: Matthew Stevens, Cultural Director of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation with Anishinaabe dance artist, Nimkii Osawamick.
Oct 7 at 7 pm: Diane Montreuil, Métis artist, will teach viewers how to make talking sticks and discuss their significance in Indigenous culture.
Oct 14 at 7 pm: Dr. Dan Longboat of the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies at Trent University will talk about the sacred in human relationships.
Oct 21 at 3 pm: Charles Catchpole, Anishinaabe chef, will teach participants how to create a 3-course Indigenous meal (recipes and list of ingredients will be sent in advance to registrants)
Oct 28 at 1 pm: Jess Thistle, author of the best-selling book, "From the Ashes" and advocate for the homeless, will inspire adults and youth with his stories and insight.
All events will be recorded and registrants will be able to view them for two weeks after initial airing.
