We are excited to throw the fifth annual Grandpa Henry’s Picnic on Sunday, July 14! Plan for a vacation back in time when you and your family spend the day at the Oshawa Museum. Our relaxing gardens, sunny backyard and friendly staff and volunteers will awaken your curiosity for the past!
Check in with our Victorian style experts; enjoy a leisurely game of croquet or horseshoes, see what’s buzzing with local beekeeper JoAnn Poirier, of Kiss My Bees, or reward yourself with some delicious homemade ice cream! New this year is a mini market, featuring Jennuinely Unique Knits, and a preview of the latest Museum Exhibit, The Vintage Catwalk!
On your journey, learn about the Henry’s, one of Oshawa’s earliest settler families. Did you know that every year patriarch, Thomas Henry would throw a special picnic for his grandchildren? He had fifty-five grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren!
This year Grandpa Henry’s Picnic is FREE and everyone is welcome. Come along, this is a picnic you don’t want to miss! Find us in the Heritage Gardens of Henry House on Sunday, July 14 from 12 – 4 pm.
