LIVE FROM PORT PERRY TOWN HALL, 1949!
written by Bill Baker produced by Carolyn Goff
It's February, 1949, a few days before Valentine's day. The Durham Region has just suffered one of the worst snowstorms on record. For weeks, the international radio transmitters have been damaged and the good people of Port Perry have been cooped up without their favorite radio programs; but not for long! The Port Perry Community Players decide to re-enact a few radio episodes at the Port Perry Town Hall to raise the spirits of the community. The local radio station in Oshawa offers to broadcast the shows to the local snowbound residents. But, the Community Players have no plan, no budget and and no idea what the heck they are doing ... what could possibly go wrong?
Come and see the Community players stumble through this wonderful new comedy, and experience a bit of what it was like to be a member of a "live" audience in the Golden Age of Radio. Featuring classic episodes from Fibber McGee and Molly, Sherlock Holmes, and The Great Gildersleeve!
