Greenbank, March 29, 2023 – Fans of Americana music are looking forward to Greenbank's next concert featuring 2022 Juno Award Nominee for "Best Traditional Album" and 2023 "Ensemble Of The Year" nominee for The Canadian Folk Music Awards, Over the Moon. Ottawa alternative-folk musician, Rory Taillon, will open for the duo. Doors open: 7:30 PM. Showtime: 8 PM.
Canadian roots/swing duo, Over The Moon, live and breathe real cowboy country. Living on a ranch in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, it’s inevitable there will be a strong sense of place - and the rhythms of the land - when you pick up an instrument and start to make music. When the couple released their debut album, the resonances were there for all to hear, reflecting the pulse of life in a territory that is both dirt-hard rugged and stunningly beautiful. It was a wild ride that took in styles from 40’s western swing and Appalachian old-time, to cowboy blues. Simple and sweet, all of the material they play has a common thread that speaks of the Canadian west and on its UK release, the reviews were glowing. Now recording for the Borealis label, their latest studio work, Chinook Waltz, oozes meant-to-be closeness and harmony – to each other and everything around them
Ottawa-based singer/songwriter Rory Taillon is a road warrior, touring across the country and back again. He has the soul of the East coast but the sound of the West in his songs with a voice to match the majesty of the Rockies. Greenbank Folk Music Society, Greenbank Centennial Hall, Greenbank (Hwy 12, 30 mins north of Whitby).
