Saturday 30 September 2023, 07:30pm - 08:45pm
Hits : 445
Come along on a musical journey back to a time of prospectors, pioneers, bootlegger-bandits, high-graders, dog-sledders and moonshiners!

MINE! True Stories and Legends of the Porcupine Gold Rush tells real-life harrowing tales of adventure and perseverance from a forgotten chapter of Canadian history through 12 new, original Folk songs in different traditional, historical styles, celebrating unsung characters from the past.

An original Solo Folk Musical written and performed by Will Gillespie. It is a multi-media storytelling experience featuring projections of original landscape paintings created by Oshawa's own visual Artist Susan Robinson and historical photos from the collection at the Timmins Museum National Exhibition Centre of the real people, places and events Will Gillespie will be singing about.

There are many famous stories about the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon and the California Gold Rush of 1849. Another even bigger gold rush happened right here in Ontario, up North in the Porcupine Camp.

MINE! True Stories and legends of the Porcupine Gold Rush has toured across Ontario twice.
